Understanding Permanent Makeup Eyebrows

How are permanent makeup eyebrows different from having your brows tattooed? Also called as microblading, it is not in the deep layer of skin unlike tattooing, but more on the surface. Despite the name, the color fades in a span of 18 months.

The technician shapes your brow area by threading the hairs, cleaning up the area and prepping it for the procedure.

Numbing takes about 40 minutes using a topical ointment. While this is working its numbing technique, you will see color swatches and choose the best shade for your desired look.

Several minutes before the numbing cream starts working, the technician will measure the area around the brows, taking into consideration your face shape, facial features, symmetry, and so on.

Every stroke is a superficial line in the skin, in which the color pigment spread throughout and settles then. If you feel any discomfort at this phase, the technician will add another layer of numbing cream to the affected area.

Then, the adding of the final layer of pigment and leaving it for 5 minutes; there is a top-up session in 6 to 8 weeks to fill in any gaps, for example, when the pigment has not healed or taken properly. Why do you need a top-up session and when does it happen? This is the time where the technician can assess the first procedure, and add in additional strokes or add a darker pigment whenever necessary.
